Deadline extended to Nov 14 for admission to medical certificate courses in TN

chennai: the directorate of medical education and research (dmer), tamil nadu has extended the deadline for admission to medical certificate courses in government medical colleges until november 14.the state has a total of 5,944 seats across its medical certificate courses. initial admissions, conducted under the directorate's supervision, filled only 1,316 seats. following this, the remaining 4,628 seats were opened for direct admission by the respective colleges, with a deadline initially set for october 10 and later extended to october 31.despite these efforts, over 2,000 seats remain vacant. the dmer has now directed colleges to complete admissions for the remaining seats by november 14 to ensure optimal enrolment in these certificate courses.the courses provide foundational medical training and are aimed at strengthening the healthcare workforce across government hospitals in tamil nadu.
