new delhi: jdu mp sanjay jha on thursday urged the government in the rajya sabha to provide more resources to nalanda university to restore its historical prestige and strengthen its international presence.jha noted that the ancient university's ruins were added to the unesco world heritage list in 2023, and a new campus was inaugurated in june 2024. the university, with over 1,200 students in 2024-25, is emerging as a hub for global education.he called for increased funding for international collaborations, infrastructure, campus protection, and digital upgrades, and stressed promoting joint research with global institutions. “revival of nalanda university is not only a pride for bihar or india but also for the common global intellectual heritage,” he said, highlighting its role in india's act east policy and cultural diplomacy in asean and bimstec nations.other mps raised issues including delayed railway projects, pesticide hazards, sc/st medical aid, affordable treatment for muscular dystrophy, and youth aggression.
