Indian Railways unveils two special tour packages

chennai: in an effort to promote spiritual and leisure tourism, indian railways has announced two special tour packages — the adi amavasya special shakthi peeth yatra and the eastern delights tour — offering travellers a chance to explore india's diverse spiritual and cultural heritage.the adi amavasya special shakthi peeth yatra is a 14-day spiritual pilgrimage set to begin on july 16, 2025. covering sacred destinations such as khamkya, puri, kolkata, gaya, kasi, ayodhya, and prayagraj, the journey includes the rare opportunity to perform pinda daan at gaya on the auspicious day of adi amavasya.pilgrims can board the special train from various stations in tamil nadu, including madurai, dindigul, palani, pollachi, podanur, erode, salem, jolarpettai, katpadi and perambur.meanwhile, the eastern delights tour is curated for travellers looking to experience the scenic beauty and cultural vibrancy of india's eastern states. the route will cover gangtok, darjeeling, bhubaneshwar, konark, and kolkata. detailed itineraries and fares for this package will be announced soon.both tours will run on dedicated tourist trains with modern amenities such as public announcement systems, coach security, tour managers, travel insurance, hotel accommodation, sightseeing arrangements, local transfers, and unlimited meals onboard and offboard.indian railways is offering a 33 per cent subsidy on these packages to make them more affordable for the public.tariff for adi amavasya special shakthi peeth yatra:1 ac (luxury): ₹59,750/-2 ac: ₹62,000/-2 ac (deluxe): ₹53,500/-3 ac (comfort): ₹44,050/-3 ac (budget): ₹36,700/-sleeper (budget): ₹27,000/-the fare for the eastern delights tour will be released separately.travellers can book their seats by calling 7305 85 85 85 or visiting www.tourtimes.in.
