NEET score reduction opens doors to Indian Medicine courses

chennai: aspiring students scoring as low as 87 in neet can now secure admission in indian medicine courses such as siddha, unani, ayurveda, and homeopathy. for yoga and naturopathy courses, the eligibility criteria have also been relaxed for plus two marks.admissions for siddha, unani, ayurveda, and homeopathy courses in government and self-financed colleges under the department of indian medicine and homeopathy are based on neet scores. to fill vacant seats, the qualifying neet score has been reduced to 112 for the general category and 87 for reserved categories. of the available seats, 115 fall under the government quota, and 112 under the administrative quota.eligible students can apply directly to the examination board at the siddha hospital campus in arumbakkam, chennai, before december 10 to secure admission.for yoga and naturopathy courses, which are based on plus two marks, the qualifying criteria have also been eased. out of the total, 269 seats are allocated under the government quota and 166 under the administrative quota.the indian medical system admission committee has announced direct admissions for these courses. the deadline for government quota admissions is december 11, while administrative quota admissions are open until december 12.this relaxed criterion provides an opportunity for more students to pursue careers in traditional and alternative medicine streams.
