coimbatore: “talent alone will identify who you are,” coimbatore corporation commissioner sivaguru prabhakaran told students while addressing the dinamalar pattam quiz award ceremony held at the corporation srp ammani ammal girls higher secondary school.the event was organised by pattam, the student edition of dinamalar daily, in association with hindustan education commission and the coimbatore corporation. in the first round, 230 students from various corporation schools participated, of which eight teams were shortlisted for the second round.after multiple rounds of questions, the 'd' team comprising sherin ansia and megha varshana emerged winners. prabhakaran presented shields, certificates, and medals to the winners and participants.he highlighted that corporation school students had performed exceptionally well in last year's pattam quiz finals and urged students to make use of every learning opportunity, including the virtual laboratory established to improve technical skills through virtual and augmented reality. “curiosity and effort will shape your identity. keep learning and strive to be the best,” he said.headmaster ramesh said several co-curricular training programmes including karate, silambam, and music were being conducted to nurture students' talents. the quiz competition will be held across 64 corporation schools, with winners from each progressing to the semifinals and finals.students sherin ansia and megha varshana shared that reading pattam fosters curiosity and helps them learn beyond textbooks. teacher srilatha delivered the vote of thanks.
