Plus-1 registration number mandatory to appear for JEE Main: CBSE
chennai: the central board of secondary education (cbse) has directed schools to provide plus-1 registration numbers to students aspiring to appear for the joint entrance examination (jee) main, stating that the number is mandatory for registration.cbse joint secretary manish agarwal said the board has issued a circular to all school principals clarifying that students must furnish their plus-1 registration number to apply for the jee main, conducted by the national testing agency (nta) for admission to engineering courses.the circular noted that while many parents and students had approached the cbse regional offices seeking the registration number, it is the responsibility of the respective schools to provide the same to eligible class 12 students.“the schools must ensure that all plus-2 students are given their plus-1 registration numbers without delay so that their higher education prospects are not affected,” the circular said.the directive comes as the cbse has already released the schedule for the class 10 and 12 final examinations for the current academic year.
