Rashtriya Raksha University campus to come up in Bhopal

bhopal: the madhya pradesh cabinet on tuesday gave in principle approval for establishment of a campus of the gandhinagar-based rashtriya raksha university (rru) in bhopal and decided to provide rs 1.05 crore every year to the institution for the next three years. the cabinet, at its meeting chaired by chief minister mohan yadav, gave in principle nod for setting up a campus of the rashtriya raksha university (national defence university) in bhopal, an official said.as per the approval, an amount of rs 1.05 crore per year will be provided for three years for the establishment of rru in the madhya pradesh capital.for the permanent facility of rru, 10 acres of land will be transferred at the department level from the parcel available in rajiv gandhi proudyogiki vishwavidyalaya (rgpv), bhopal campus.it was also decided to temporarily make available a building in rgpv for the operation of rru till the latter gets it own campus, said the official.with the establishment of rru campus in bhopal, madhya pradesh will strengthen its position as a centre of employment, skill development, higher education in the field of national security and help showcase cooperation between state and national-level institutions, he said.the cabinet also approved a scheme, chief minister vrindavan gram yojana, to make villages self-reliant.under the scheme, one village will be selected from each assembly whose current population is at least 2,000 and the minimum number of cattle is 500, the official said.such villages will be developed as chief minister vrindavan gram and made self-reliant. these villages will also serve as role models of development to other rural areas of the state.various programmes related to thematic perspectives of rural development, including cow rearing and dairy development, environmental protection, organic farming, water conservation, solar energy, infrastructure growth and self-employment, will be undertaken under the scheme, the official said.besides, the cabinet took a number of other decisions, including sanctioning rs 4,572 crore for reconstruction of 1,766 bridges from financial years 2025-26 to 2029-30, he said..as per the approval, damaged bridges will be reconstructed and all-weather connectivity will be provided. for implementation and monitoring of the scheme, approval was given to authorise a committee of the madhya pradesh rural road development authority to take appropriate decisions in the matter.
