Stalin vows to make Tamil Nadu a model state in education

coimbatore: aspirants for the post of district education officer (deo) have raised concerns over repeated examinations and delayed results by the tamil nadu public service commission (tnpsc).according to candidates, the tnpsc had issued a notification in december 2018 to recruit 18 deos and subsequently conducted examinations, publishing a rank list in december 2020. however, a case alleging irregularities in the appointments was filed in the madras high court, following which the appointments were stayed.while the legal proceedings are still pending, tnpsc went ahead and conducted fresh exams in 2023 to fill 11 deo posts under the group 1c category, for which 111 candidates appeared. another exam was held in 2024 to recruit eight more deos.however, aspirants claim that even months after the exams, results have not been declared, adding to their anxiety and frustration. they questioned the logic behind holding fresh exams while the previous recruitment process remains incomplete and embroiled in litigation.“this only creates confusion and raises doubts about the transparency of tnpsc's functioning. many of us have been waiting for years for a government job. it is unfair to keep conducting exams without resolving pending issues or releasing results,” an aspirant told ians.candidates have demanded that tnpsc immediately release the results of the conducted exams and bring clarity to the recruitment process to end their prolonged uncertainty.
