chennai: the tamil nadu public service commission (tnpsc) has withdrawn its recent directive mandating additional certification for differently-abled candidates applying for the group-4 examination.last month, tnpsc had issued a notification requiring differently-abled applicants seeking appointment as substitute clerks to upload a medical certificate issued by a government chief medical officer, surgeon, or chief health inspector, in addition to the standard disability certificate.the directive drew sharp criticism from sections of the differently-abled community, who termed the move as discriminatory and burdensome.responding to the concerns, tnpsc has now clarified that candidates need only submit their existing disability certificate while applying online. “there is no requirement to upload any additional certificates,” the commission stated in an official release.the revised guideline reinstates the previous process, easing the application requirements for differently-abled candidates appearing for the group-4 examination.
