UPSC recommends 458 candidates for Engineering Services Examination 2025
new delhi: the union public service commission (upsc) announced the final results of the engineering services examination (ese) 2025, recommending 458 candidates for appointment to various group 'a' and group 'b' services and posts under different ministries and departments.the recommendations are based on the written examination held in august 2025 and the personality test conducted during october and november 2025, the upsc said.of the total candidates recommended, 202 are from civil engineering, 61 from mechanical engineering, 79 from electrical engineering and 116 from electronics and telecommunication engineering. the overall list includes candidates from general, economically weaker sections (ews), other backward classes (obc), scheduled castes (sc) and scheduled tribes (st) categories, along with persons with benchmark disabilities (pwbd).the commission said appointments would be made strictly in accordance with existing rules and subject to the availability of vacancies, with service allocation based on merit rank and preferences indicated by candidates.the government has reported a total of 554 vacancies across the four engineering disciplines for ese 2025.the candidature of 102 recommended candidates has been kept provisional, pending verification of eligibility documents. upsc has also maintained a consolidated reserve list of 186 candidates across disciplines.the results are available on the upsc website, and mark sheets will be uploaded within 15 days, the commission said.
