Beira Tamil Family Pongal Celebration 2025 - A Day to Remember!

This Pongal, our Tamil family and friends in Beira came together to celebrate the festival of harvest in the serene surroundings of Nhyangau village. Though we were a small group of around 20, the spirit of the occasion was nothing short of grand!We relived traditional moments with games like “Uriyadi,” which brought joy to kids and adults alike, including enthusiastic participation from the women. Adding to the charm, we prepared delicious meals—both vegetarian and non-vegetarian—right at the venue, sharing the warmth of home-cooked food amidst nature.As a tribute to this special day, we planted a neem tree sapling, a symbol of growth and sustainability, to mark the occasion.It was truly a celebration of culture, community, and the essence of Pongal!- Dinamalar Reader Vinoth Vijayan
