Annamalai advices UPSC aspirants to prepare with dedication

coimbatore: former ips officer annamalai urged civil service aspirants to approach their preparation for the upsc exams with unwavering dedication and commitment.the union public service commission (upsc) conducts prestigious exams for posts such as ias, ips, ifs, and irs, attracting millions of aspirants. to guide these aspirants, dinamalar daily, vajiram & ravi institute for ias exams have jointly organized the program "neengalum aagalaam ias" at sri ramakrishna college of arts and sciences.the event featured notable speakers, including former tamil nadu dgp ravi, ex-ips officer annamalai, income tax commissioner nandakumar, and examination expert srivatsan.addressing the aspirants, former dgp ravi said, "success begins in the subconscious mind. whatever you set your mind to, you can achieve. the upsc exam is not like college exams—it requires a strategic approach. maintain your individuality and believe in your potential."annamalai emphasized the responsibility and significance of civil services, stating, "within 30 years, you can become a collector or sp, influencing districts with millions of people. civil servants are the backbone of democracy, not politicians. your role ensures democracy's strength and development."he urged aspirants to adapt to changes in the examination system and align with evolving governance goals. highlighting tamil nadu's declining success rate in recent years, he said, "identify the gaps and work to address them. you have the privilege of living in india, the world's fastest-growing economy. use this opportunity to its fullest."with 441 colleges in coimbatore alone—the highest for any district in india—annamalai encouraged students to leverage these resources and work diligently towards their dreams.
