Certain Chief Secretaries summoned over misleading advertisement
new delhi: the supreme court has summoned the chief secretaries of certain states for failing to act against misleading advertisements related to siddha, ayurveda, and unani medicine.the indian medical association (ima) had filed a petition against yoga guru baba ramdev and his company, patanjali, alleging that their advertisements spread false information about the covid-19 vaccine and modern medicine.hearing the case, the supreme court directed states to take strict action against companies publishing deceptive advertisements. however, a complaint was later filed, accusing delhi, andhra pradesh, goa, gujarat, and jammu & kashmir of inaction in this matter.senior advocate shadan parasat, assisting the government in the case, highlighted this issue before the court. in response, the judges ordered the chief secretaries of the concerned states to appear via video conference and provide an explanation.
