Engineering counselling begins for Anna University and affiliated colleges

chennai: the engineering counselling for admission to b.e. and b.tech. courses in anna university and its 445 affiliated colleges commenced on sunday, marking the start of the tamil nadu engineering admissions (tnea) process for 2024.the registration for engineering counselling began on may 7 and concluded on june 9. random numbers were assigned to applicants on june 11, followed by certificate verification from june 11 to 20. the final rank list was released on june 27.according to official data, 2,39,299 students qualified under the general academic stream, while 2,342 students qualified under the vocational stream. a total of 144 students secured a perfect score of 200 in cut-off marks.counselling for the government-allotted 2 lakh seats in engineering courses will be conducted online in multiple phases. on july 7 and 8, the 7.5% special reservation counselling for government school students falling under categories such as persons with disabilities, ex-servicemen dependents, and sportspersons is being held.subsequently, from july 9 to 11, special category counselling for the same groups under the general category will take place. the counselling for the 7.5% government school reservation for general category students is scheduled between july 14 and 19.supplementary counselling will be conducted online from august 21 to 23, followed by the counselling for scheduled castes (sc) and scheduled caste arunthathiyars (sca) on august 25 and 26, which will mark the conclusion of this year's counselling process.
