IISF 2025 to be held in Panchkula from Dec 6

panchkula (haryana): the 11th edition of the india international science festival (iisf) will be held from december 6 to 9 in panchkula, haryana, with the theme “vigyan se samruddhi: for aatmanirbhar bharat”, officials said on friday.launched in 2015 under the vision of prime minister narendra modi, iisf has grown into one of india's largest platforms for promoting scientific temper, innovation and public participation in science. the four-day festival is expected to host over 40,000 participants from india and abroad and feature more than 150 technical and thematic sessions.the festival will focus on five major themes — science and ecology of north-west india and the himalayan region, science for society and education, atmanirbhar bharat through science and technology, biotechnology and bio-economy, and integration of traditional knowledge with modern science.special sessions will be organised for women in science, students, young entrepreneurs and early-career researchers. priority areas include artificial intelligence, quantum technology, gene editing, space science, bio-economy and climate research.iisf 2025 is being organised by the ministry of earth sciences and coordinated by the indian institute of tropical meteorology, pune, with participation from the departments of science and technology, biotechnology, space, atomic energy and csir. vijnana bharati is the outreach partner.the festival aims to strengthen links between research, industry and society, while placing science at the centre of india's self-reliance and development goals.
