June 16 deadline to apply for Govt-Sponsored Maritime courses

chennai: the central institute of fisheries, nautical and engineering training (cifnet), functioning under the union ministry of fisheries, has invited applications for its two-year vocational courses in shipbuilding and navigation. the last date to apply is june 16.the programmes — marine fitter course (mfc) and vessel navigator course (vnc) — are offered at cifnet's training centres in chennai, cochin, and visakhapatnam.eligible candidates must have passed class 10 with a minimum of 40% marks in science and mathematics, and fall within the 15-20 years age group.the application fee is ₹350 for general and obc categories and ₹175 for sc/st candidates. a monthly stipend of ₹1,500 is provided to trainees.the entrance examination will be held on july 5, and results will be declared on july 14.for further details and to apply, visit: https://cifnet.gov.in
